Avec la multiplicité des échanges marchands internationaux l’Agent(e) de transit est plébiscité. L’Agent(e) de transit s’occupe des formalités administratives liées au transport de marchandises et leur suivi au niveau national et international par voie aérienne, maritime, routière et ferroviaire. Il/elle est ainsi chargé(e) de trouver le moyen de transport approprié au type de marchandises à expédier, rapide et au meilleur prix, en respectant le délai de livraison annoncé au client. Il/elle travaille généralement au sein du service import/export des entreprises.
Ses principales activités sont les suivantes :
- Trouver les meilleurs moyens de transport
- Négocier les prix
- S’informer des normes et lois en vigueur dans chacun des pays
- Obtenir les autorisations nécessaires à l’acheminement des produits
- Suivre l’acheminement des marchandises informatiquement

Un débutant perçoit environ 1 500€ brut par mois. Après quelques années d’expérience, l’Agent(e)de transit peut prétendre à un salaire de 2 000€ brut par mois.
L’Agent(e) de transit a la possibilité d’évoluer vers le métier de Chef de service.
